Family secrets. The "inner exit" from transgenerational traumatisation

Trauma is often caused by events in one's own family. Often they are concealed, faded out, packed away. It is difficult to deal concretely with the consequences of the traumas of the generations of origin for one's own thinking, feeling and acting.
In her two-day seminar "Family Secrets", Michaela Huber therefore focuses on the question: How can we recognise transgenerational transmissions in ourselves and in our clients?

One is to understand transgenerational traumatisation theoretically.
The other is more difficult: to deal concretely with the consequences that the traumas of the generations of origin had on one's own thinking, feeling and acting. Recognising that one's own suffering stems from personal experience with parents or other important attachment figures is hard enough.

It becomes even more difficult when one has to recognise how much one's own attitudes, ideas, attitudes - and how much one's own grief stem from transmissions from the parents', grandparents' and great-grandparents' generations and their personal, social and political experience. Subcutaneously - as if under the skin - the atmosphere from the family of origin is conveyed.
This is how family secrets, unprocessed shocks, fears of death, existential hardships of all kinds are conveyed. They produce pain, emotional and physical. And often enough it is difficult to recognise where this pain comes from. How can we recognise our own transgenerational transmissions, and how can we recognise them in our clients? What helps to face the delegated, the hitherto unprocessed pain that challenges us? Exciting topics for a seminar that combines the possibility of personal and therapeutic experiences.
